Fix subtitle delay
Subtitles too early or too late? Move every line by the same amount in seconds.

Your file never leaves your device. Everything runs in your browser.
Play the video, note when the first and last lines are actually spoken, and type those times (hh:mm:ss,ms).
(useful when only the second half is off)
How to fix subtitles that are out of sync
- Play the video and find a line of dialogue. Note whether the subtitle shows up before or after the person speaks, and by roughly how much.
- Load the subtitle file above, choose Move all subtitles, and enter the gap in seconds.
- Download the fixed file and give it the same name as your video (for example
movie.srtnext tomovie.mp4), so players like VLC load it automatically.
When the delay grows over time
If the first lines are right but later ones drift further off, the subtitles were made for a version of the video with a different frame rate or a different cut. Use Fix drift and enter when the first and last lines are actually spoken. SRT Shift stretches all the timings in between to match.
Questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is read and rewritten by your own browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
What about accents and other languages?
SRT Shift reads UTF-8 files and falls back to Windows-1252 for older Western European files, and always saves as UTF-8.
Can I fix only part of the file?
Yes. Set "Apply from subtitle number" to the first line that's out of sync.
